artist statement

 

 

Through my creative practice I aim to question accepted rules and pathways and look to offer alternatives, where literalness, humour and play are important fuel. Using the familiar but presented in unexpected ways my methods often involve reinterpretation, re-contextualising, cyclical referencing and the merging of opposites and definitions to create new interpretations where meanings slip and boundaries dissolve. Conceptually based, my practice has sprung from my love of the unpredictable coupled with a keen interest in human behaviour.
